Schiela Peña, VP, Disability Services & Outreach Manager for Regions Bank

This month, we’re proud to spotlight our partnership with Regions. A dedicated supporter of ASI, Regions is deeply committed to advancing the Autism community through education and collaboration. Helping to lead these efforts, Schiela Peña, VP, Disability Services & Outreach Manager, shares her perspective.

  1. How does your community partnership with ASI reflect Regions’ broader commitment to the Autism community?

Our collaboration with the Autism Society of Indiana really reflects how Regions approaches community engagement overall—by meeting people where they are and listening first. At Regions, we believe accessibility and inclusion aren’t add‑ons; they’re foundational to how we serve our customers, associates, and communities. Working alongside ASI allows us to support the Autism community through an organization that deeply understands local needs and lived experiences. It’s less about a single program or moment, and more about building long‑term relationships that allow us to show up in meaningful, thoughtful ways.

  1. What impact do you hope your support has on individuals and families affected by Autism?

My hope is that Regions’ support helps individuals and families feel seen, respected, and empowered—whether that’s through access to resources, education, or simply knowing they’re not navigating things alone. Autism impacts every family differently, and meaningful support starts with recognizing that individuality. If our partnership helps reduce barriers, spark confidence, or create moments of connection and understanding, then we’re moving in the right direction.

  1. What excites you most about continuing your relationship with ASI in the future?

What excites me most is the opportunity to keep deepening the relationship and growing together. ASI brings such knowledge, passion, and trust within the Autism community, and that creates space for collaboration that’s thoughtful and impactful. I’m especially excited about continuing to learn from ASI and exploring ways we can expand education, advocacy, and opportunities—both within Regions and in the broader community.

  1. Is there anything about our organization or the people we serve that has been especially meaningful to you or your team?

The people—always. The families, advocates, and individuals we meet through ASI continually remind us why this work matters. Their openness, resilience, and willingness to share their stories have been incredibly meaningful to me and to our team. It reinforces the importance of leading with empathy and listening with intention. Those relationships stay with you and shape how you show up, not just professionally, but personally as well.
