Caregiver Connection-Your Story Is Your Superpower: How to Speak Up, Stand Out, and Spark Change
December 6 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Your story matters—and it can open hearts, change minds, and shape systems. In this powerful, interactive session, caregivers will learn how to craft and share their personal story in ways that make a real difference. Whether you’re speaking at an IEP meeting, writing a letter to a legislator, sharing at a community event, or mentoring another mom—you already hold the most powerful advocacy tool there is: your experience.
We’ll explore:
- What makes a story impactful—and how to tell it with heart and clarity
- The difference between a vent, a testimony, and an advocacy story
- How to shape your story for different audiences (schools, doctors, policymakers, media, social media, etc.)
- When to share and when to protect your peace
- Real-life examples and formats: written, spoken, visual, or social
Participants will leave with a working draft of their personal advocacy story and a guide to using it meaningfully and safely.
