DESCRIPTION:About This Event\n\nThe Autism Society of Indiana is happy to participate in the Public Safety Day hosted by the Carmel Fire Department. \nCarmel’s Fire Department will be hosting their Public Safety Day on Saturday\, August 16. \nLearn about Carmel Police and Fire Departments\, Household Hazardous Waste\, Health and Wellness Awareness\, Public Safety Helicopters and Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety! \nFor kids\, there will be a Touch-A-Truck area to get up close to different types of Emergency vehicles\, a face painter\, a fun inflatable slide\, and a stage with music! They have many organizations signed up with informational booths and Food Trucks offering food and refreshments for purchase. The Police and Fire Departments will also be doing demonstrations.

We’ll lower the lights and reduce distractions to give children and adults with sensory processing differences a chance to enjoy an interactive learning experience in a comfortable and accepting environment. \nSocial narratives will be available at the ticket counter and sensory-based activities will be spaced throughout the museum.
