My name is Christine Belviy and I am the Ally for District 8 which covers the southeastern part of the state. I began as an ally in September 2011 when the position was created for my area. I earned my bachelor’s degree and graduate certificate in Human Resource Development through Indiana State University. Currently I am pursuing my masters in Special Education through Indiana University.
I have a 14 year old son who was diagnosed with Asperger’s at the age of six. Through the last eight years there have been many struggles and happy times. I hope to be able to help make those struggling times a bit less difficult with being able to help find resources and supports in your area. I have a passion for what I do and I love it! Never before have I been able to say I love my job!
Since the diagnosis of my son, I am very active in my community and volunteer with multiple different entities. I feel education is the key to all questions: understanding a diagnosis, knowing what is right for my child and knowing what my child is entitled to under that diagnosis. I am here to help you find the information and resources you need so you can make those informed decisions. I love training and educating anyone about Autism. The more informed we all are, the better we will be able to help our loved ones with Autism!
